Born in 1997 in Istanbul, the artist was accepted to Yale University after graduating from Kabataş High School for Boys. She graduated from Yale University Art Faculty Painting and Printmaking Department with honors in 2020. During his education, she worked as a creative director at Yale Photo Society, as a design editor at The New Journal, as an illustrator at the Yale Daily News, and as a graphic designer at the Yale Drama Association; She also acted as a consultant for the school’s arts department. Between 2018 and 2020, she worked and interned in various departments of Yale Art Gallery and Yale Center for British Art. In 2019, she worked as a guest artist at the Berlin Art Studio residence. During his career, she participated in various group exhibitions in the USA and Germany. Lacan’s psychoanalysis, semiotics and queer theory are his fields of interest. “Hide and Seek” is Hazal Özgür’s first solo exhibition.
